Powerful book "From Silence to Voice" encourages nurses to speak about their work

March 2006 -- The second edition of a powerful book entitled From Silence to Voice by Bernice Buresh and Suzanne Gordon, two of the nursing profession's strongest advocates, has been released. From Silence to Voice provides insight into why nursing has long been invisible to much of the public. It also provides valuable guidance to help nurses get their stories out and increase public respect for their work at this critical time. The book won the American Journal of Nursing's Book Award and has been hailed by many nursing leaders.

We encourage all nurses to read this book, especially if you are interested in making media appearances, for it gives excellent guidance on how nurses can become more media savvy.

Ms. Buresh and Ms. Gordon are both on the Center's Board of Directors. Order this book, or if you become a member of the Center at the $100 level or higher, you can receive a complimentary copy of the book ($19.95 value). Join now.
