Richard Kimball, MSN, MPH, RN
Mr. Kimball is a doctoral student at University of Maryland. He is also a Clinical Instructor at the JHU School of Nursing, where he teaches community health to undergraduate nursing students. He is also a research and clinical care nurse in the nurse-directed Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Clinic at the JHU School of Medicine, a position he has held since 2002. In addition, since 2000 Mr. Kimball has worked as a per diem Registered Nurse on a psychiatric nursing unit at the Johns Hopkins Hospital (JHH), a position he also held from 1999-2000. Mr. Kimball worked with terminally ill patients as the coordinator of a health care decision-making study at the JHU School of Nursing from 2001 until 2002. During his Masters program, he also completed a summer internship and assessment of the mobile psychiatric program at JHH. Mr. Kimball earned his Bachelor of Science in nursing degree (BSN) at JHU's School of Nursing in 1999. He served in the Peace Corps in Moldova from 1993-1995 and subsequently worked for two USAID contractors (The Counterpart Foundation and American International Health Association) in Moldova and central Asia from 1995-1997. Mr. Kimball decided to become a nurse after seeing effective nursing interventions in infection control and women's health programs during his service overseas. He graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in integrated life sciences in 1992. He lives in Baltimore with his wife Natalia Panfile. |
